Warehouse High Bay Selection Guide

How to compare lumen output, mounting height, distribution, controls, and environment when selecting warehouse high-bay fixtures.

Published by: Bright Concepts LightingUpdated: August 24, 2026

Mounting height and required light

Warehouse high-bay selection begins with the application: mounting height, spacing, aisle or open-area geometry, required illuminance, and the reflectance and use of the space. Fixture wattage by itself is not a lighting design.

Optical distribution

High-bay products can produce different beam patterns even at similar lumen outputs. Distribution affects fixture spacing, uniformity, aisle performance, and delivered light on the work plane.

Controls and environment

  • Input voltage
  • Lumen output
  • Distribution / beam angle
  • Mounting method
  • 0–10V or other dimming
  • Occupancy sensor options
  • Ambient temperature
  • Damp/wet or special environment ratings
Large projects: verify photometric and application requirements before ordering a large fixture quantity.
